Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Kinski Gallo is an accomplished world musician based in Los Angeles, California. As the frontman of the bi-lingual rock band Monte Negro, Kinski has shared the stage with a variety of mega-acts ranging from Gwen Stefani and Nine Inch Nails to Cafe Tacuba, Zoe, and Enanitos Verdes. In 2012, he formed the group Gallo, whose trilogy of albums Fuego, Phoenix Rising, and Mamawe have met with widespread critical acclaim.
A highly versatile artist, Kinski is also a music video director, art director, songwriter, and music producer. He is also known for having conceptualized and designed award winning album covers for the likes of Crosby, Stills & Nash and Monte Negro, as well as for contributing to album booklets for artists such a Neil Young and the Deftones. As a musician, his currently solo project seeks to coalesce a range of genres and influences, from cumbia, salsa, and reggaeton to electronica, punk, and pop.
